TOMMY Robinson has broken his silence and claimed he “defended himself” after being released on bail following his arrest last night.
The 42-year-old, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, was detained at Luton Airport at 6.25pm yesterday, after boarding an EasyJet flight from Faro Airport in Portugal.

The British Transport Police confirmed earlier today that a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire was released on police bail until September 8 while enquiries continue.
Now, Robinson has taken to social media to speak out for the first time following his bail.
Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, he said: “I’ve got to be honest, one of the worst week’s of my life.
“I was worried, very worried, I thought I was being stitched up.”
The far-right activist then spoke out regarding the incident at St Pancras.
He said: “And then in the end I had to defend myself – that’s exactly what the footage shows.
“If someone comes up and wants to accost me, confront me and attempt to attack me I’m within my rights to defend myself.”
Robinson added: “I was detained yesterday on GBH section 18 and I was interviewed.
“And what my request would be right now is release the footage for the public to see.
“Everyone needs to see the footage, not just that little clip, you need to see the footage.”
The BTP were called to St Pancras at 8.40pm on July 28 following reports of an assault.
Officers discovered a man with serious injuries who was transported to hospital.
Police confirmed last week the man injured in the alleged assault had been discharged from hospital.
A video was posted on social media which showed Robinson near a man lying on the ground, who appeared to be unresponsive.
Robinson claimed the man had attacked him in the footage before leaving the country shortly after.
Yesterday, stunned passengers watched on as an aircraft was surrounded by British Transport Police officers.
Cops were waiting for the far-right activist after he left the country following an alleged assault at St Pancras Station last week.
Speaking on X, today Robinson claimed it was a “planned trip” and he had notified the police when he was coming back.

He was met by two female officers at the bottom of the stairs at a runway at Luton Airport.
The 42-year-old was led into a police van stationed on the tarmac, surrounded by six cops.
A source who was on the plane from Portugal spoke to The Sun and revealed what happened when Robinson was arrested.
“I was going to the toilet and I noticed he was sitting down on our flight,” they said.
“I knew he was wanted for the attack [at St Pancras], so I had an idea of what was going to play out when we landed.
“Not many people knew who he was on board – so other passengers were shocked to see police officers waiting outside for him. They must have known he was coming back.
“There were two police vans waiting outside for him – and when he walked to the front of the plane, there were officers waiting at the doors.
“As soon as he came down the stairs he was grabbed by an officer – there were about four or five officers around him, and he was quickly escorted into a police van.”
