EVERTON are in talks with Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish on loan, according to reports.

Grealish, 29, has looked destined for an Etihad exit this summer after falling down the pecking order and struggling for minutes last season.

The Athletic has now reported that Everton have made an approach to sign the out-of-favour winger on a season-long loan.

It’s claimed that the deal is considered “complicated” and there are no guarantees that an agreement will be found.

Grealish’s hefty £300,000-per-week wages could present a significant issue.

However, the Toffees have begun discussions around a potential switch.

Last month Grealish reportedly agreed to train away from the rest of the Man City squad amid speculation around his future.

While Pep Guardiola chose to leave the former Aston Villa star out of City’s squad for their Club World Cup exploits this summer.

Grealish made just seven starts in the Premier League last season and was often an unused substitute for Guardiola’s side.

The 39-time England cap joined Man City for £100m in 2021 and is contracted to the club until the summer of 2027.

Grealish has been criticised for off-field antics during his struggles at City, but Guardiola has insisted that he hasn’t limited his minutes as a result of those issues.

He said last season: “The only reason he didn’t play minutes was me, not because he was incorrect or whatever.

“I want the best for Jack, his partner, his kids, his family.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen right now or have any doubts about the qualities of Jack. The quality has always been there, the year of the Treble would have been impossible.”

Grealish has maintained that he still loves Man City in the midst of the swirling rumours around his exit.

Filmed talking to a City fan at Oasis‘ Heaton Park gig last month, Grealish said: “You know what? Bro, I love City more than anything.

“And do you know what I love more than anything? City fans. They’re the best fans in the world”.
