And the spacious new first team dressing room at their training ground has been fitted with “smart urinals”.

That means Ruben Amorim’s stars will know instantly if they are de-hydrated and need extra fluids when they go to the loo.

It should give Cristiano Ronaldo – and others who have taken the pee out of the out-dated club HQ – something to think about.

Part owner Jim Ratcliffe has sanctioned a £50million upgrade of the facility – and took on board the views of the players in designing it.

A padel court for the squad to use is in the pipeline – as well as sleeping pods so the squad will be sure to get their rest and relaxation.

The recreational area for the players on the first floor has a barbers room – while a Formula One simulator is next door – which Amorim hopes will help them go through the gears this season.

Ratcliffe, 72, knows the facility alone will not turn the club into winners – but believes it will be a key element in their bid to return to the top.

He said: “We are delighted with the outcome and are confident the new facility will play an important role in building a winning culture at the club.

“This is one of the most recognised brands in the world, it stands shoulder to shoulder with Coca-Cola and Apple.

“The club has to compete at the highest level that is appropriate to the size and history of the club.

“While a world class training facility won’t take us to that position alone, it is one of the key ingredients in the modern facility. Now we have one.”

Ratcliffe revealed the training ground was the area they quickly identified as requiring an upgrade when they acquired the club last season.

He said: “It felt like you were in a hospital in the basement. It was a slightly gloomy place, a gloomy rabbit warren.

“Now it is open, fresh, quite modern. It encourages interaction.

“That is what we needed. To Ruben, Bruno and the players, I hope you enjoy your new home.

“I hope it takes Manchester United where Manchester United needs to go. We should all be very proud of this new facility.”

Former boss Alex Ferguson was present as the ribbon was cut and also unveiled a tribute to the club’s long-serving former receptionist Kath Phipps, who died last year.
