ALLY McCoist has revealed how his wife recorded him sleeping to prove he snored.

The Rangers legend, 61, claims missus Vivien Ross then showed the footage to her pals.

He said co-presenter Alan Brazil on TalkSport: “You should never sleep on your back. But you do snore when you are on your back. I know I do.

“Wee Viv taped me one night. That’s poor innit. Imagine taping your husband or your wife snoring to show to your pals.”

Coisty’s former Ibrox teammate Ian Durrant previously spoke about how loud his snoring was.

They were both room-mates at Lilleshall receiving specialist treatment when Durrant added EAR-ACHE to his knee injury while McCoist nursed a hamstring problem.

Durrant, 57, said: “I can confirm he could snore for Scotland as well as play for them. The racket was simply horrendous!

“But after that trip I knew we’d be friends for life.”

That’s not the only secret Durrant discovered about his lifelong pal.

He knows Super Ally better than anyone, and says the personality of the popular media figure is the same in private as in public.

Durrant said: “With Alistair, what you see is what you get. There aren’t any secrets.

“He’s much the same in private with people he knows well as he is on the radio or TV.

“He comes across as chirpy and the life and soul of the party, and that’s very much how he is.

“The one thing I would say about Coisty is that people don’t know about how much charity work he does.

“He doesn’t do it for recognition, but I know that over the years he’s done a lot that never gets publicised, particularly in his home town of East Kilbride.”

Last month talkSPORT host and TNT commentator McCoist branched out from punditry work to launch his own limos and chauffeur firm.

He set up business with his eldest son Alexander, 29.

Officials say the pair’s company is involved in the “renting and leasing of cars and light motor vehicles”.

It’s registered in Erskine, Renfrewshire, with both Coisty and his lad named as its sole directors.
