A MURDER investigation has been launched after a body was discovered in a UK city centre.
The unidentified woman’s body was sadly discovered in Smethwick, Birmingham, in the early hours of this morning.
Officers from West Midlands Police were called to an industrial estate off Woodburn Road just after 6:10 am.
Despite the best efforts of emergency services nothing could be done to revive the woman and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A murder investigation has now been launched with officers scrambling to track down the woman’s killer.
A police cordon remains in place in the area today.
Official identification of the body is yet to take place.
Anyone with information that could help cops is asked to contact West Midlands Police on 101 and quote log 622 of 11/8/25.
West Midlands Police said: “We were called to an industrial estate off Woodburn Road at just after 6.10am.
“Tragically, nothing could be done to revive the woman and she was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.
“We’re in the early stages of our investigation and a police scene remains in place.
“We’d ask for anyone with information to contact us via 101 and quote log 622 of 11/8/25.”
