MORE than 2,000 tourists and locals have been evacuated from a Spanish resort holiday spot in the face of raging wildfires.

People rushed to safety from the hotels and beaches in the town of Tarifa, Cadiz, southern Spain.

Flames and huge clouds of smoke erupted from the dry fields around the town.

Less than a week ago another fire in the nearby La Pena area forced the evacuation of thousands from campsites, hotels and the beaches.
