Whyte was dazed and then floored after being hit by a barrage of punches in the opening 90 seconds.

The referee stepped in as the 37-year-old struggled to recover against the ropes to hand Itauma his 13th straight professional victory.

Following the stunning display, Saudi Arabian boxing boss Alalshikh has revealed who he wants to see the rising star face next.

According to Ring Magazine, he wants Itauma’s next opponent to be undisputed heavyweight champion, Oleksandr Usyk.

Having taken down Tyson Fury, Daniel Dubois and Anthony Joshua, Usyk has a taste for cutting British rivals down to size.

Yet while The Cat’s other rivals were always bringing a few extra inches of height, Itauma is just two centimetres taller than the 37-year-old.

After Saturday night’s fight, Kent-raised Itauma – ranked as the WBO’s No1 heavyweight – lifted the lid on his future.

He said: “I thank Dillian, it takes two to tangle and he gave me the opportunity to showcase my skills.

“To be honest, for the first two minutes the nerves were there but then I saw an opening that I could not miss and I executed the gameplan.

“What’s next! Honestly I will fight anyone they put in front of me.

“If I am honest, Joseph Parker and Agit Kabayel deserved their shot but I would jump in with them lot.

He added: “[The crowd] are saying they want me to fight Usyk next.

“The team mentioned they want me to get some rounds out. Any of them can happen.”

With his Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, victory over Whyte, Itauma has added the vacant Commonwealth heavyweight title, meaning he now holds three titles with the WBA International and WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight titles as well.
