But coach Rui Barbosa was a little too enthusiastic with his celebrations and he hit his head on the dugout.

The knock caused a wound in his head and Barbosa required six stitches.

The goalkeeper coach was patched up by the medical staff with Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo revealing he felt dizzy.

He said: “He has six stitches! It was a nasty one. A bad one. He was dizzy.”

Forest ran out 3-1 winners against the Bees with Chris Wood scoring twice.

He was joined on the scoresheet by debutant Dan Ndoye, leaving Nuno a happy manager.

The Portuguese boss added: “I am delighted. The way we started the game was amazing.

“We played good, we dominated, we controlled … the goal in the first five minutes settled the team and the energy of the stadium.

“With the exception of a moment before the third goal, we did not allow Brentford too many things.”

Brentford’s defeat is an early reality check for new boss Keith Andrews, who took over from Thomas Frank this summer.
