ASHVIR SINGH JOHAL has been appointed as the new manager of Morecambe as they look to build into a new era at Mazuma Mobile Stadium.
The Shrimps saw their first games of the National League season suspended, as the side faced financial difficulty.

However, the side were saved, after a takeover from Panjab Warriors, meaning they can now compete in the National League, and the ownership sacked manager Derek Adams.
Johal will now look to guide Morecambe back into the Football League, following the Shrimps relegation from League Two in the 2024/25 season.
But, Morecambe will have their work cut out for them, as the side remains under a transfer embargo until all staff are paid.

Who is Ashvir Singh Johal?
Ashvir Singh Johal is the first Sikh manager in the top five tiers of English football.
He is also the youngest manager in the top five tears, aged 30.
Morecambe’s new manager began his journey into management in 2011, aged 16, completing his FA Level 1 coaching badge.
He then went on to join Leicester City as a volunteer, during which time they won the Premier League and FA Cup, before joining Kolo Toure at Wigan Athletic.

His journey took him to Como, where he worked alongside Cesc Fabregas as an assistant coach, before becoming head coach of the Notts County B team.
Now, he lands his first role as manager with National League side Morecambe, replacing Derek Adams for the Shrimps.
After being appointed, he said: “The immediate priority right now is going to be to identify the players that we need in this building to ensure Morecambe Football Club can perform well in the National League.”
His appointment comes mere days after the club were saved financial ruin.
The club have been taken over by a known as Panjab Warriors.
The Shrimps had seen their first three matches of the seasons postponed as they were unable to meet financial obligations.
