Leicester’s PL2 clash vs Newcastle ABANDONED after Foxes member of staff rushed to hospital with medical emergency

LEICESTER’S Premier League 2 clash against Newcastle has been abandoned after a member of staff was rushed to hospital.

The Foxes said a member of their staff had been taken to hospital following a medical emergency.

A Leicester statement said: “We can confirm that this evening’s PL2 fixture between Leicester City Under-21s and Newcastle United Under-21s at Seagrave was abandoned due to a medical emergency involving a member of LCFC staff.

“The staff member has been transferred to hospital and we await further updates on his condition.”

A statement from Newcastle added: “Our thoughts are with the Leicester City staff member following tonight’s PL2 fixture.”

The score was 2-2 at the time the match was abandoned.

Will Alves had scored inside five minutes after returning from an ACL injury.

Christopher Popov had doubled their advantage.

But Newcastle’s Dylan Stephenson then scored two goals in quick succession.
