A NEO-NAZI who changed gender after being convicted has been allowed to serve time in a women’s prison, sparking fury across Germany.
Marla-Svenja Liebich, 53, previously known as Sven, in the past fumed that transgender people were “parasites” and fascists, raising concerns over the intentions behind the decision.

The moustachioed fascist was convicted of inciting hatred, criminal insults and trespassing for a range of crimes – including advertising a baseball bat online as a “deportation aid”.
Liebich was a member of a banned neo-Nazi group called Blood and Honour, according to Germany media.
A sentence of 18 months in prison was handed down in July 2023 – which the extremist unsuccessfully appealed.
At that point, Liebich identified as a male – and had done since birth.
But at the end of 2024, the convict’s official gender on record was changed to female, upon request, along with the official name.
Liebich attended court wearing a flowing leopard-print top, a large hat, a handbag and make-up after swapping gender – though kept the moustache.
It’s feared that the gender change is exploiting a recent reform which makes it much easier for people to alter their registered gender.
Germany’s Self-Determination Act had just come into force and strengthened the rights of transgender people.
Under previous law, two medical specialists had to give their support to any gender change.
But in November, the rules changed so all that’s now required is signing a form at a local registry office.
Liebich has been a ringleader of the far-right movement in east Germany since the nineties – and ran the local Blood and Honour branch in Saxony-Anhalt.
The neo-Nazi organised rallies in Halle – where German intelligence described Liebich’s activities as “unparalleled” across the whole entire country.
And in recent years Liebich has been an enthusiastic supporter of Vladimir Putin and Russia‘s bloody invasion of Ukraine – even selling products bearing the Russian ultra-nationalist “Z” symbol on social media.
The neo-Nazi has also long been a vocal enemy of the LGBTQ community.

Liebich marked Pride month in 2022 by posting a picture of a burning rainbow flag captioned: “Finally, the marginalised alphabet-people are being made visible again, until for the remaining 11 months of the year everything will be about making them visible.
“Take good care of yourselves and don’t get monkeypox with your spontaneous encounters on Grindr in the railway station toilet.”
The decision to send Liebich to a women’s prison after the last-minute gender change has been met with outrage.
Many point Liebich’s history of vile abuse towards the trans community to argue the gender change was driven by a desire for easier conditions in the women’s Chemnitz prison.

Liebich confirmed in a post on X. “I will begin my prison sentence as scheduled. On August 29, 2025, at 10pm, I will arrive at the Chemnitz correctional facility with my suitcases.”
LTO, a legal website, warned that Liebich could pose a danger to the prison’s inmates.
Germany’s chief public prosecutor said the prison would decide whether Liebich could pose a threat to security and order – which could result in a transfer to another jail.
