Child fighting for their life and woman in her 30s among two seriously injured in collision as ‘drink driver’ arrested

A WOMAN and two children have been rushed to hospital after a serious crash with one man arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving.

Cops rushed to the scene in Silfield, Norfolk, just before 6pm yesterday after reports of a serious collision involving a black Mercedes AMG A45 and a black Kia Ceed.

The road was closed whilst emergency services attended the scene including fire, ambulance and air ambulance.

The driver of the Kia, a woman aged in her 30s, and a passenger, a child, were taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) in a serious condition.

Another child, who was also a passenger, was rushedto the NNUH by air in a life-threatening condition.

The woman and one of children have since been transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where their condition remains unchanged.

Norfolk Police confirmed that the other child has been discharged.

The driver of the Mercedes, a man aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He has been taken to the NNUH with serious injuries, said the force.

Norfolk Police said that his passenger, a woman aged in her 40s, was also taken to NNUH with serious injuries.

They both remain in hospital, said cops.

Police confirmed that the road reopened at around 7.25am today after the horror collision.

Officers said they would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any relevant dashcam footage.
