England Rugby has drawn inspiration from the success of the Lionesses this summer, focusing on developing strong team connections and managing high-pressure situations after losing the last World Cup final, similar to that of the England women’s football team back in 2023.
The Red Roses want to ensure they are ready to challenge for their first world title since 2014.

As in football, this event is on a traditional four-year cycle; the previous tournament, however, was in 2022 due to COVID-19.
This will be the second women’s Rugby Union World Cup hosted in England and the fourth to be hosted in Great Britain.

The Black Ferns enter the tournament as defending champions following their victory against England last time out.
This marks the first tournament, as the Women’s Rugby World Cup expands to include 16 teams and will be hosted across eight different venues and cities in England.

When are England’s fixtures?
The Red Roses kick off their World Cup with the opening match against the USA as the host nation.
The tournament starts on August 22nd and will run to September 27th, when the final (kick-off 16:00) and bronze medal (kick-off 12:30) match will be hosted in Twickenham, home of England Rugby.

The hosts will hope to reach the final and win it all, emulating what the Lionesses did in Switzerland at the Euros.
