HIBERNIAN fans were left confused as a supporter whipped out a puppet during half-time of last night’s crucial Conference League clash with Legia Warsaw.

The Edinburgh side are bidding to successfully get through European qualifying rounds for the first time in their proud history.

Hibs dramatically beat Partizan Belgrade last time out in Europe, with highly-rated young striker Kieron Bowie scoring a screamer.

In last night’s first leg against Legia, however, David Gray’s men found themselves in a spot of bother.

The Scottish Premiership side went in at half-time trailing 2-0 at Easter Road courtesy of goals by Jean-Pierre Nsame and Pawel Wszolek.

With most supporters gutted at the prospect of league phase European football slipping away, one at least seemed to be enjoying his evening out.

As club anthem “Hibs for the Cup” rang around the stadium, a man wearing the club’s home top whipped out a puppet.

The fan filmed his puppet in selfie mode, making it dance and mime to the song.

Seeing the scene play out a Hibs fan filmed it, before posting on X: “2-0 down at half time and my heads on f***ing Mars.”

When the video subsequently went viral, one social media user joked: “More entertaining than the game to be honest.”

While a second quipped: “probably more informative than most pundits…….”

And a third bantered: “Game’s gone.”

The same fan later posted links to the puppet fan’s YouTube and TikTok accounts, sportingly adding: “Give the guy a follow he’s just having fun even if he sent me into a spiral at 2 zip down.”

The YouTube channel, named “Get Your Rocks Off” was launched in March and has more than 100 subscribers.

It is populated by more than 300 videos, mostly featuring the puppet miming along to several different songs in its customary Hibernian shirt.

As for the Hibees, they went on to grab a goal back during the second half, Josh Mulligan notching four minutes from time to keep their European dream alive.

Hibs will travel to Poland next week looking to overturn their 2-1 deficit at Legia’s intimidating Polish Army Stadium.
