The plane – carrying 181 passengers – had to return to Arlanda after what a Norwegian press officer described as a “technical problem”.
According to an official at the control centre, a “tire explosion” occurred during takeoff, as reported by Expressen.
“I can understand that it might feel unsettling, but the landing was carried out without drama,” the Norwegian spokesperson added.
Debris from the explosion was reportedly found on the runway in the morning.
