THIS is the shocking moment a Republican Texas election candidate shared footage of herself torching the Quran with a flamethrower in a vile anti-Islamic campaign ad.
In the video, Valentina Gomez claims her goal is to “end Islam” in Texas – despite Muslims making up just one per cent of the state’s population.

Gomez, who is running in the GOP primary for Texas‘ 31st congressional District, caused outrage after she posted the video of herself burning Muslims’ holy book on X on Monday.
She is heard saying in the video: “America is a Christian nation, so those terrorist Muslims can *** to any of the 57 Muslim nations.
“There is only one true God, and that is the God of Israel.”
This is not the first time Gomez has expressed Islamophobic views.
Earlier this year, she interrupted a Muslim event at the Texas Capitol, where she ranted that Islam was a “religion of rape, incest and paedophilia”, while mocking Muslims’ prayer and calling the Prophet Muhammad a “false prophet”.
Gomez has also spread hateful rhetoric against the LGBTQ community, Black people and immigrants.
Last year, she posted a video of herself burning two LGBTQ books on social media, captioning it: “When I’m Secretary of State, I will BURN all books that are grooming, indoctrinating, and sexualizing our children. MAGA. America First.”
In a separate post, she complained that her clip had been censored on Instagram and X after being flagged as hateful conduct.
Gomez also caused a stir when she told voters in another video: “In America, you can be anything you want, so don’t be weak and gay.”
The video was censored on X as it was flagged as violating violent speech policy.
In December, she posted a disturbing video where she shoots with a handgun a hooded dummy in a mock public execution of a migrant.
In that video, she said: “It’s that simple, public executions for any illegal that rapes or kills an American.
“They don’t deserve deportation, they deserve to be ended.”
Following her video on Monday, people from various walks of life were quick to criticise Gomez.
Podcast host Brian Allen wrote on X: “Texas GOP candidate Valentina Gomez just released a campaign ad burning the Quran and vowing to “end Islam in Texas.”
“This isn’t politics. It’s incitement. When the mosques start burning, remember: this was the match and the Texas GOP handed her the lighter.”
One X user wrote: “Get out of my state. We have no place for intolerance and hateful people who don’t believe in basic human rights such as THE FIRST AMENDMENT which allows for freedom of religion. Why don’t you learn the basics before running for office.”
While she presents herself as a staunch MAGA candidate, she has not received an endorsement from Donald Trump.
She has raised just over $7,000 for her race as of June 30, according to Federal Election Commission records.
Gomez was banned from Instagram last year.
