The monster sexually assaulted a 25-year-old after offering her a free ride home in the early hours.

He also carried out a terrifying sex attack on a 19-year-old woman he picked up near Hove Park.

Head has now been jailed for 23 years for kidnap, attempted rape and assault by penetration.

Passing sentence, Judge Christine Laing described Head as a “sexual predator preying on vulnerable women”.

Lewes Crown Court was told Head was originally convicted in July 2023 but this was overturned in December last year.

Nine days later, the 25-year-old victim tragically died after hearing she would have to go through another trial to keep him in prison.

In a harrowing victim impact statement, her mum said her daughter died knowing he could be freed.

Addressing Head, she added: “Her last words were; ‘Help me, please, mum. I am in hell. I cannot go through another horrendous trial again’.”

The mum continued: “You robbed my gorgeous girl of the bright and promising future she was building.

“We will probably never know if her trauma was the primary cause of her death.

“She said she could not survive a retrial.”

The victim had had called 999 to report being assaulted by a man in latex gloves and a Covid mask.

She bravely managed to remember he the driver of a car with registration staring L21.

When officers used this information to pull him over, Head was asked if he had any interaction with a female in the minutes before he was stopped.

He told police through a blue face mask: “No, I haven’t.

“I’m going back to Pevensey.”

Officers then revealed his personalised registration matched a partial plate given by the woman minutes before.

He told police: “Definitely not me, no.”

As he was speaking, police decided to search his car where they found latex gloves, Viagra, condoms and a balaclava that formed a rape kit.

When asked why he had the condoms and Viagra, Head said: “I’m a normal red blooded male”.

The court heard Head later changed his story and told police he had picked the woman up as she looked “worse for wear” but denied attacking her.

Police later found business cards advertising him as a “N-Uber driver” that were emblazoned with the slogan “Safe and Reliable – For All Occasions”.

Head also attacked a 19-year-old in a park after picking her up in Brighton.

She text a friend as she was being assaulted during the early-hours horror attack on August 19, 2022, saying: “I’m being raped.”

Rebecca Millardship from the Crown Prosecution Service said: “Graham Head is a dangerous sexual predator, who poses a real danger to young women.

“He planned his attacks carefully, pretending to be an Uber driver, using latex gloves to minimise the risk of leaving traces of his DNA and, while he was searching for victims, he made sure his phones were on flight mode, so they could not be tracked.

“After a re-trial was ordered, the CPS remained steadfast in our commitment to deliver justice for the victims.

“Following the tragic death of one of the victims in this case, we were still able to ensure her voice was heard during the re-trial, with her interview given to the police played to the jury and details of the answers she gave to questions from the defence during the original trial also included in our case.

“Today’s sentence ensures that Head will not be able to hurt any other young women. We hope that this sentence brings some small comfort to everyone involved in the case.”
