MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly finally agreed a deal to sell Antony to Real Betis.

The Brazilian rejuvenated himself at the Seville-based club in the second half of last season.

Antony, 25, made the switch to Betis on loan in January and refound his form.

This summer, he has been keen to return to the LaLiga club but negotiations have dragged on.

The Athletic report an agreement has finally been found between the clubs.

The Red Devils have settled on a fee of £21.5million to let the winger leave, three years after signing him for £85.5m from Ajax.

However, they will have a 50 per cent sell-on clause should he make another move in the future.

United have also been boosted as Betis will be taking on the full financial responsibility of the Brazilian.

The transfer appeared to collapse on Friday when Betis withdrew their offer over a £4-5million loyalty bonus Antony believed he was due from United.

But United will make no further payment to the player, the Athletic reports.

This means his £6million annual salary has been removed from the club’s wage budget.

Antony impressed under former Man City and West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini.

He scored nine times and assisted five goals in just 26 appearances during his loan.

The former Ajax man also helped Betis reach the Conference League final, though they were well beaten 4-1 by Chelsea.

Antony is the latest member of the United ‘Bomb Squad’ to be on his way out of the club.
