Emergency crews were scrambled to the property on Cuckmere Lane just before 3pm.

The woman was rushed to hospital but sadly died of her injuries yesterday.

Following a manhunt, an 18-year-old boy from Southampton has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Hampshire Police confirmed they were not looking for any other suspects in connection with the tragic death.

Officers had been patrolling the area as investigations remained ongoing.

Previously, the force said: “Officers are pursuing lines of enquiry to identify a man within the property at the time of the incident.

“Officers remain at the address today as enquiries continue and will be conducting patrols in the area.

“If you have any concerns or information please do not hesitate to speak with officers, call 101 or report online quoting incident number 44250389733.”

Specialist officers have been supporting the woman’s family.

It comes as cops appealed for witnesses following the death of a 12-year-old who died after falling from playground apparatus.

Logan Carter suffered fatal injuries when he was flung off the play equipment at the Wharton Recreation Ground in Winsford, Cheshire.

It is thought he was with pals at the time of the tragedy and the wheel of an electric bike was used to spin the roundabout.

Paramedics rushed to the recreation ground at 6pm after Logan was injured.

Sadly, the Liverpool fan – nicknamed Bear by his family – was pronounced dead at the scene.
