His cause of death remains unknownInstagram
His cause of death is yet to be confirmed, as reported by Generation Iron.
Markov, from Spain, earned his bodybuilding tour card in May after winning the country’s Mr Olympia Amateur competition.
“I turned my dream into reality – I got my tour card,” he wrote on Instagram as he shared a snap of himself kissing his partner Lucia Barahona, a personal trainer.
He paid tribute to Barahona, thanking her for her patience and “unconditional love” that she showed toward him.
“You are my partner for life, my best friend, my quiet strength, my calm in the chaos,” he said.
But, he vowed that it was just the beginning of his career.
“Hungry for more,” he said.
Even though Markov claimed his tour card, he described his relationship with Barahona as the “greatest victory of all.”
Barahona posted on social media over the weekend, where she wrote: “I don’t feel able to do it right now, and I still haven’t processed this situation that both his family and I are going through.
“Out of respect for him and his family, I won’t repost anything. Sorry.”
She has also spoken out about her need to “heal” following his death.
Weeks before Markov’s death, Barahona described him as her champion.
TRIBUTES POUR IN
Fellow bodybuilder, Fede Guevera, has led the tributes.
“Rest in peace friend. How unfair is life, it always takes the best,” he wrote on Instagram.
“The little I was able to know you, you transmitted me how good a person you were, from the first moment with that temperance and serenity that characterized you.
“God have you in his glory.”
The bodybuilding industry has been rocked by a series of deaths over recent months.
Last month, fitness influencer Hayley McNeff died suddenly at the age of 37.
Former IFBB Pro Craig Licker, who competed in 13 pro events, died at the age of 57.
Spanish bodybuilder Lorena Blanco, also 37, died after suffering a suspected heart attack.
She was preparing to take part in the Ms Olympia competition that’s going to be held in Las Vegas later this year.
And in July, popular fitness influencer Christina Bitner died just three days after her 41st birthday.
