A TIPPER truck has overturned off a major motorway junction with massive traffic delays nearby.
The vehicle ended up on its side following the collision, causing queues to build up nearby.
Traffic has been building up on an M60 junction
The tipper truck overturned close to an M60 junction in Salford, with traffic tailing back.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At shortly after 1.20pm on Thursday (September 4) one fire engine from Eccles was called to a road traffic accident on Walkden Road, Worsley, where a HGV overturned.
“Crews checked the area and vehicle were safe and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.”
The anticlockwise exit slip road from the M60 was closed due to emergency repairs being carried out on junction 13 of Worsley Brow.
The A572 Worsley Brow was also partially blocked, causing slow traffic along the road.
Traffic has been building up around the junction with five roads that approach the junction affected.
Delays are being experienced on Barton Road, Leigh Road, Walkden Road, Worsley Brow and Worsley Road, according to Google traffic data.
There is congestion on local routes between Eccles and Worsley as traffic seeks alternative routes, including the B5211 Barton Road.
Details into the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed.
Traffic is expected to return back to normal around 7pm, according to National Highways, but it has been moving slowly through the area.
