The Irishman boasts a professional boxing record of 19-3-0, beating three of his previous five opponents.
He has battled for the world title on two previous occasions, once in Nottingham and again in Belfast but lost both and contemplated retirement.
The veteran warrior confirmed in August that a loss would be the end of the road for him, he said: “This is the last hurrah, the last roll of the dice. The next time I lose, that’ll be me calling it a day.
In his last fight, Conlan, 33, defeated Asad Asif Khan via unanimous decision on March 7, 2025 after a 15- month absence.
After the win, the Belfast featherweight confirmed that Spain’s Cristobal Lorente would be his next opponent as they looked certain to clash for the European featherweight title.
The bout never materialised however as Lorente fought fellow Spaniard Ruben Gil.
Conlan will instead battle former British super bantamweight champion Jack Bateson.
The 31-year-old Yorkshireman has a boxing record of 20-1-1.
His only professional loss was against Shabaz Masoud in November, 2022, via 12th-round TKO.
Since then Bateson went on a four-fight win streak and most recently picked up a technical draw in his December bout against Danny Quartermaine.
Conlan is favourite for the bout with odds of 2/5 (-250) whereas the underdog Bateson is currently 41/20 (+200).
