A SHOPLIFTER who stole £300,000 of Boots cosmetics was given nearly £3,000 of legal aid dating back to when she was 14.

The Romanian crime gang member admitted nicking goods worth £119,318 but Boots estimates the true cost of her one-woman crime spree across London is nearer £300,000.
Now, a Sun request under freedom of information rules has shown she has been granted publicly funded legal aid since her life of crime began in the UK back in 2019.
She got two payments of almost £600 for solicitors relating to earlier theft convictions.
Other payments followed, taking the total to £2,623.57 for legal help handling theft and public order offences between 2020 and 2024.
In one raid in Hornchurch, Essex, she wore a long, flowing skirt with hidden pockets to stash her ill-gotten gains.
She even had a key to open locked cabinets containing the most expensive brands.
Officials warn the aid bill could yet be higher.
The Ministry of Justice said: “The Legal Aid Agency may not yet be in receipt of all the claims associated with recent proceedings, which are received and paid in arrears upon conclusion of the case.”
