Cops urgently hunt suspect still at large after ‘sexual assault’ in city park

POLICE are desperately hunting down a suspect after a sexual assault in a South London park.

The horror incident is alleged to have occurred yesterday, September 6, at Manor Park in Lewisham.

Cops raced to respond to the incident and are now hunting down a suspect.

The victim is being supported by specialist officers.

The entrance to the popular park was under guard yesterday with the Met Police setting up a cordon around the scene.

Cops said the suspect remains at large and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Police received a report of sexual assault at 9.56pm on Saturday, September 6. One victim is being supported by specialist officers.

“One suspect remains outstanding.

“No arrests have been made at this stage and the investigation is ongoing.

“A crime scene was established on Manor Park, Lewisham on Sunday, 7 September. This has since been closed.”

Anyone who may have information relating to the incident is asked to contact the Met Police as a priority.
