THIS is the shocking moment a woman drags a motorist by her hair during a ‘road rage brawl’ in the middle of a packed motorway.

The violent roadside scrap saw two groups levelling haymaker punches at one another while cars continued to drive past on London’s M25.

The fight, on Sunday afternoon, was caught on camera by a passing car on the southbound side of the motorway near Junction 12 – the busy interchange with the M3 motorway.

Footage shows passengers from a £25,000 white Audi A3 confronting other travellers from a larger black car.

Two men, one in jeans and a black t-shirt and another in shorts and a cream t-shirt, are seen scrapping by the Aldi’s passenger-side door, before hurling wild fists at each other.

They then square up to each other in the middle of an active lane, forcing cars behind to slow down and stop.

Meanwhile, a woman in white shorts and a grey t-shirt drags the car’s driver from her seat by grabbing and pulling on her hair.

They then also exchange blows while other members of the group stand watching and appear to shout.

It is unclear how the fight was sparked but an eyewitness who drove past said: “It looked like a road rage brawl.

“They pulled a girl out of the car, and we have no idea what it was about.

“It was mad, it was insane – right in the middle of the lane.

“I went into the left-hand lane and drove straight past them.

“The whole motorway was blocked.”

The video shows other cars slowing down or stopping altogether to avoid colliding with the brawling groups.

It meant traffic on Britain’s busiest motorway, used by 250,000 cars every day, was held up by the fight.

Road rage has been on the rise across Britain for years, with a spate of furious incidents captured on film.

They include grey-haired Peter Abbott, 61, who was filmed in August 2023 leering into the front window of a woman’s car and shouting: “Do you see me you f****** tart?”

He also hammered on TV producer Samantha Isaacs’s windscreen while she filmed him scowling and screaming at her.

Abbott was handed a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months after a trial.

We also told how two drivers got into a punch-up in Edgware Road, West London, with a man being chased, tackled and kicked after putting a woman in a headlock.

The number of road rage police reports jumped 40 per cent to 3,208 incidents between 2022 and 2023, the most recent year for which stats are available.

Surrey Police was asked to comment.
