American ace Crawford, 37, is an undisputed world champion in two weight classes and is the current WBA super-welterweight title holder.
He is jumping two weight divisions up to Canelo’s favoured super-middleweight for this bout in Las Vegas and it is his first clash since August last year.
Should Crawford win, he will become the first man in the modern four-belt era to achieve undisputed status in three separate divisions.
As for Canelo, 35, he has only been beaten twice in 67 fights by greats Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol.
