PREMIER League Darts fans have been left reeling after a notable omission from the 2026 calendar.

Next year’s edition of the tournament is set to get underway in February, with the top throwers travelling to 17 different cities.

But the new calendar has caused a stir after Exeter was ditched from the schedule and replaced by a brand new country.

The Premier League stars will be travelling to Belgium for the first time ever, with the tournament heading to AFAS Dome in Antwerp on February 12.

As exciting as a new nation is for fans, so many are gutted to see Exeter axed from the tour – with the Westpoint Arena long a fan-favourite venue.

And most fans voiced their concerns around what the change will mean for the UK Open – which is usually played within a week of the Exeter date – with Minehead Butlins just over an hour away in the car.

Reacting on social media, one fan wrote: “Exeter always played the week after Minehead. It made sense. Money talks. Oh and don’t worry about the South West.”

While another added: “Poor old Exeter. Gone but not forgotten.”

A third fumed: “Exeter before the UK Open is a tradition, terrible to get rid of it.

And a fourth posted: “Sad to see Exeter off the list, it made sense having it on the same week as the UK Open so the players didn’t have so far to travel at such short notice.

“But that being said, there’s no Euro tour country that deserves a PL date more than Belgium.”

The change means that darts fans in the South West of England will have to travel all the way to Brighton, London or Cardiff to get their nearest glimpse of Premier League action.

PDC chief executive Matt Porter said in a statement: “We’re delighted to be able to take the BetMGM Premier League to Belgium in 2026 during what will be our widest-reaching season yet.

“Belgium has successfully hosted sell-out European Tour events in recent years and the sport has enjoyed huge growth there in recent years.

“Supported by our broadcast partners VTM and inspired by the big-stage success of Dimitri Van den Bergh and Mike De Decker.

“We’re sure that the visit to the AFAS Dome will be another hugely popular event, adding an extra dimension to the Premier League following the sell-out success of the 2025 season and the thrilling finale we enjoyed in London.”

As always, the events will be held on Thursdays from February to May.

Newcastle’s Utilita Arena will host the first night, with the final taking place at the O2 Arena in London.

While overseas trips to Antwerp, Berlin and Rotterdam will accompany 14 UK and Ireland dates.
