PETER Mandelson will be itching to bring down Sir Keir Starmer, the sacked ambassador’s pals have warned.
A Labour insider and Mandy ally called his dumping an extraordinary betrayal, saying: “Vengeance will be unleashed like a deposed Mafia Don.”

They added that he “knows very well how crap they are in Downing Street”.
Mandy was fired as our man in the US over files showing he had called paedophile Jeffrey Epstein his “best pal”.
Less than 24 hours before axing him, the PM said he had “full confidence” in him.
It is understood Mandelson admitted during the vetting process he had maintained his friendship with Epstein for years.
He told our show, Harry Cole Saves The West, that he “deeply regretted” any association with the paedophile and felt conned by him.
Yesterday backbench Labour MPs sniped that Sir Keir was not “up to the job” after losing Mandelson and Deputy PM Angela Rayner in a week.
Clive Lewis told the BBC: “You see a Labour Prime Minister who feels that he’s lost control within the first year.
“The fact that the person who is eight points ahead of us is Nigel Farage, that terrifies me and a lot of people.
“We don’t have the luxury of carrying on this way with someone who, I’m sorry to say, doesn’t seem up to the job.”
Mr Farage claimed that Sir Keir was now left in a “very difficult” position.
Former Foreign Secretary James Cleverly said he could “see Starmer being gone by Christmas” because of his “habit of blaming other people for his own failures”.
But a spokesperson for the PM said he “has confidence in his top team”.
