The Spaniard subsequently booted the United forward to the turf and was deservedly shown a red card.
Boss Enzo Maresca immediately made two substitutions, replacing Pedro Neto and Estevao with Filip Jorgensen and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Despite the Blues’ changes, United took the lead on 14 minutes via skipper Bruno Fernandes.
This is not the first time that Ferguson has been spotted in the Old Trafford posh seats alongside Allardyce.

The pair also attended Man Utd’s clash with Luton in November 2023 together.
Ferguson and Allardyce also share a love of horse racing.
The pair were spotted together at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year.
While in 2024, both watched on as Fergie celebrated two winners at the Festival.
