According to Marca, however, this year’s event will be much different than what we are used to because of one major alteration.
That is because no one is sharing a forecast on the eventual winner.
The victor will not be revealed until the very last moment so that there is no repeat of last year’s controversy involving Real and Vinicius Jr.
Los Blancos learned in the morning of the ceremony that Vinicius would not be winning the award.
And thus no member of the Real delegation flew to Paris even though they were ready to jet off.
Vinicius went on to finish as a runner-up behind eventual winner Manchester City star Rodri.
This year there is also no clear favourite to win the men’s Ballon d’Or.
However, there are rumours suggesting Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele will be leaving with the award.
However, there are also favourites in the Ballon d’Or’s other categories.
That includes the likes of Man Cty signing Gianluigi Donnarumma for best goalkeeper and PSG boss Luis Enrique for best manager.
PSG star Desire Doue and Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal could be set for a close call in terms of the best young player.
