CRYSTAL PALACE have reportedly accepted that Marc Guehi will leave the club within the next year.

The Eagles blocked the centre-back from joining Liverpool at the eleventh hour on transfer deadline day earlier this month.

He completed a medical in London ahead of the proposed £35million move before Palace officials pulled the plug.

The 25-year-old was left frustrated as a result and refused to even consider the idea of signing a new deal at Selhurst Park.

With his contract expiring next June, Guehi is now expected to leave on a free transfer unless the Eagles agree to sell him in January.

Either way, he is not expected to be a Crystal Palace player when the 2026-27 season kicks off.

Palace “realistically accept” that Guehi’s time at the club is coming to an end, according to Sky Sports.

Club officials have acknowledged that it will be difficult to convince the England international to commit his long-term future to Crystal Palace.

Guehi is understood to be calm about his next steps.

The centre-back has continued playing for and captaining Palace amid the ongoing transfer saga.

He is yet to miss a Premier League game this season, having played every minute of the campaign so far.

Speculation around his future has continued to swirl following his failed deadline day move.

Reports last week claimed that Guehi told his advisors that he would like to join Real Madrid next summer.

However, Liverpool could choose to submit another bid for him in January following the injury to Giovanni Leoni this week.

The 18-year-old defender tore his ACL during the club’s Carabao Cup match against Southampton on Tuesday.

He is now expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Guehi making a January move to Liverpool following the injury to Leoni.

The Reds could get him for a small transfer fee given the fact he will have just six months left on his deal.
