The clash marks the first time EVER that Gallagher Prem Rugby has been played on a Thursday night.
Defending champions Bath have only strengthened ahead of the new season, while Newcastle look a new side after the takeover of Red Bull.
The 2025/26 season will also mark Owen Farrell’s triumphant return to Saracens after a mixed spell with Racing 92 and a strong summer with the British & Irish Lions.

Gloucester’s trip to Sale Sharks is on a Thursday night so the Gallagher Prem action does not clash with the Women’s Rugby World Cup this weekend.
The curtain raiser for the new season will be on Thursday night, while defending champions Bath travel to Harlequins, and Newcastle Red Bulls host Saracens on Friday night.
The Women’s Rugby World Cup final – which will see England take on Canada at Twickenham – then comes on Saturday.
This will be followed by Northampton Saints hosting Exeter Chiefs, and Bristol Bears, flanked by returning Louis Rees-Zammit, hosting Leicester Tigers.
