FANS struggled to get through enhanced security at Bethpage ahead of the start of the Ryder Cup.
Spectators paid $800 (£600) each for their tickets, but found themselves stuck in slow moving lines at the entrance.

President Donald Trump is set to attend proceedings on Long Island this weekend.
This has seen security measures significantly increased, at a cost of an estimated $10 million – ex-secret service agent Donald Lane told The U.S. Sun.
Proceedings are scheduled to get underway at 7:10am EST.
With under an hour to go until play began, fans could be seen having to be patient in order to get in.
Just under 30 minutes from opening tee, even members of staff were struggling to get on site.
Some fans started to get restless, not wanting to miss any of the action.
Astonishingly, one queuing ticket holder caught a power line exploding on camera.
They captioned their vid, “Even the power grid at Bethpage couldn’t handle the Ryder Cup tension. Come on Europe.”
Trump, 79, has attended plenty of sporting events during his second term.
The New York-native became the first ever sitting president to attend a Super Bowl earlier this year, when he witnessed the Philadelphia Eagles defeat the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.
Earlier this month he rocked up to the US Open men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
Last minute extra security measures put in place at Flushing Meadows led to thousands of fans missing the beginning of the match – even with the start time being moved back by 30 minutes.
Many missed the entire first set, despite having paid thousands of dollars for their tickets.
On September 11, Trump went to watch the New York Yankees to mark the 9/11 anniversary.
Ahead of action getting underway at Bethpage, Bryson DeChambeau was asked about the effect that Trump’s presence could have on Team USA.
The 32-year-old said, “I think he’ll be a great force for us to get a lot of people on our side.
“I think it will be interesting and exciting to see how the crowd and everybody reacts. It’s going to be an electric environment.”

The Ryder Cup have banned the following items:
Portable folding chairs
Large vaping devices
Torch-style lighters
Metal/hard plastic insulated beverage containers
Large umbrellas (small retractable umbrellas are allowed).
Umbrella use may be restricted in certain areas of the course and main grandstand. Rain ponchos are strongly encouraged.
All bags, personal items and their contents may be subject to inspection.
Laptops and tablets will NOT be permitted in the Bethpage Black Golf Course.
But on Friday, September 26:
Range finders will NOT be permitted inside the golf course.
