A ‘BALL move’ controversy has sparked major controversy just moments into the start of the Ryder Cup.
Team USA and Europe are battling it out at Bethpage Black in New York over the next three-days.

The action started on Friday morning, as Scottie Scheffler and Co face off against Rory McIlroy’s side.
Just minutes into the morning foursomes, USA fans were in uproar over an alleged ball moving.
Tyrrell Hatton and Jon Rahm were teaming up to take on Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas.
The drama happened on the 7th hole, sparking anger across social media.
Rahm hit his tee shot into trees onto the right hand side.
His ball lodged into heavy rough, which included twigs and acorns.
The pair were looking over their next shot when Hatton stepped on a long stick.
It appeared the ball was pushed forward slightly before going back to its original position.
However, it was deemed by Ryder Cup officials the ball did NOT move.
Hatton then lined up his second shot, 182 yards away from the pin.
But USA fans reacted with anger on social media, claiming they should be punished.
If the ball was deemed to have moved, it would have been a shot violation for the European pair.
“Tyrell Hatton and Jon Rahm’s ball moved clear as day,” one fan said on X.
Another added: “We’re gonna act like that ball didn’t just move.

“Europe already stealing holes from us.”
A third raged: “Did the ball move when rahm stepped on the branch?!
“Should be a penalty.”
A fan added: “Can we move this stick without the ball wiggling a quarter inch?
“Such a fun discussion. Golf has the stupidest rule minutiae.”
And one commented: “Not being able to move that branch from in front of the ball without penalty is such a stupid rule.”
The Ryder Cup started chaotically on Friday morning, with thousands of fans who paid $800 a ticket stuck outside.
An exploding power line forced entrances to be re-routed, causing two-hour queues.

THE 45th Ryder Cup takes place from September 26-28 with the US team desperate to wrestle back the crown from Europe.
Scottie Scheffler and the American side will battle Rory McIlroy’s European team in New York.
The infamous Bethpage Black course will be the venue for the latest edition of the pulsating golf tournament.
NBC will broadcast the competition in it’s entirety in the United States.
Friday’s foursomes and fourballs will be live on USA Network from 7 am ET to 6 pm ET.
Saturday’s action will take place during the same hours live on NBC.
And Sunday’s singles will also be on NBC from 12 pm ET to 6 pm ET.
