A POLICEMAN has died a week after being critically injured in a horror crash while responding to another collision.
PC Faizaan Najeeb had been responding to a road collision in Northamptonshire last week when he was critically injured in a crash, police said.

He was raced to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge but sadly passed away earlier on Friday at just 24 years old.
PC Najeeb had been responding to a separate single-vehicle collision when he was involved in a crash with a blue VW Polo.
A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene of the collision and has been bailed by police pending further investigation.
The officer joined Northamptonshire Police in 2022 and had served with the response team in Wellingborough since then.
The force said that, in line with tradition for officers who have passed away in the line of duty, his collar number P1967 will be retired in his memory.
A two-minute silence in memory of PC Najeeb at the force’s Wootton Hall headquarters will be held next week while a flag was flown at half-mast today.
Announcing the news today, Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet said: “Words cannot describe the sadness felt when an officer loses his life serving in the line of duty.
“The entire Northamptonshire Police family wish to pass on our deepest condolences to his family and friends at this truly awful point in time.
“Colleagues from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are still investigating the collision, and specialist family liaison officers will continue to support Faizaan’s family in the coming days and weeks.
“We are also carrying out an internal health and safety investigation.”
Northampton Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, Danielle Stone, said that the death of PC Najeeb was an absolute tragedy.
“I am so saddened to hear that one of our police officers, Faizaan Najeeb, has died after responding to an incident in the line of duty,” Danielle said.
“Faizaan’s death is a terrible reminder of the risks police officers face every day as they work to keep us all safe.
“I am sending my deepest condolences to Faizaan’s family, at this dreadful and difficult time. And I am thinking of Faizaan’s friends and Northamptonshire Police colleagues who are so hurt by his passing.
“His loss will have such an impact on the Force and my thoughts are with all of those who knew him.”
