The ship, Enchantment of the Seas, had left Tampa, Florida, and was heading to Costa Maya, Mexico, when it encountered the raft.

The cruise liner had to divert from its planned journey to the Bahamas due to the risk of hurricanes and tropical storms.

It’s reported that the rescue mission took place somewhere between Mexico and Cuba.

Footage taken from the vessel and shared on Facebook showed a rescue boat heading toward the makeshift raft.

The raft could be seen bobbing up and down on the water.

The people on board the makeshift raft were helped onto the rescue boat.

They were brought onto the ship and given water, as reported by People.

The dramatic operation comes just months after another Royal Caribbean vessel rescued 11 people who were stranded in the Gulf of Mexico.

It later emerged that the 11 people were refugees.

They were rescued by crews on board the Brilliance of the Seas vessel.

The migrants were found just four days into a cruise that had left New Orleans.

The Royal Caribbean ship had been chartered by the company, VACAYA, and its CEO, Randle Roper, spoke about the operation.

He recalled how the migrants waved a white distress flag before being brought onto the ship.

“The refugees on the boat were literally bailing out the water out of the boat,” Roper told CNN.

“They were just adrift sea and taking on water.”

The Enchantment of the Seas has been part of the Royal Caribbean fleet for more than two decades.

Its maiden voyage was in July 1997.

The vessel has 12 decks and is 989 feet long, and it has a capacity of more than 2,200 guests.

Its features include an outdoor movie screen, a rock climbing wall, and a royal theater.

The ship also boasts features such as a casino, jogging track, and solarium.
