Urgent hunt after man in his 40s killed in hit-and-run outside popular UK tourist hotspot

POLICE have launched an urgent investigation after a man was killed in a hit-and-run at a busy tourist hotspot

The man, aged in his 40s, was hit by a car which failed to stop in Park Crescent, London, on Friday evening.

Police and the London Ambulance Service raced to the scene and desperately tried to save the man’s life.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital but despite the efforts of medics he tragically passed away.

Detectives from the Met Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now probing the incident.

Investigators are desperately trying to track down the driver of the vehicle.

Anyone who may have witnessed the horror crash is asked to contact the cops immediately.

Detective Sergeant Glen Mera from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We are appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information they may have about this fatal collision.

“From our enquiries, we can see that the car hits the victim before driving off and hitting another vehicle.

“We are keen to speak with the driver.

“If you have any information, or dash-cam footage that may be of use, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us, we really appreciate any information you may have for us.”
