GABBY LOGAN has revealed she was left in tears just hours before hosting England’s historic Rugby World Cup final win, after suffering heartbreaking family news.

The BBC presenter, 50, fronted coverage of the Red Roses’ 33-13 triumph over Canada at Twickenham on Saturday, helping deliver the nation’s third Women’s Rugby World Cup crown.

But behind the scenes, Logan was grieving the loss of the family’s beloved dog, Milo, who died at the age of 14.

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, Gabby opened up about the emotional toll the day took and how she leaned on husband Kenny Logan, 53, to get through it.

She admitted: “When I found out the eldest dog had to be put down, I said to Kenny, ‘I can’t do this on my own’.

“We weren’t going to be able to get the whole family together for it, so I said, ‘We need a gin and tonic and a bit of a cry.’”

Milo, a loyal boxer, had been with the Logan family for over a decade — and was a much-loved companion to the couple and their 20-year-old twins, Reuben and Lois.

Gabby later shared a heartfelt tribute to Milo on social media, writing:
“Our hearts are broken. Our big guy has gone. Milo, you were truly one in a million.”

She recalled his quirks, like loving a scratch under the chin, guarding the kids, and keeping a strict body clock that never let the family miss 8am or 5pm — his regular walk and dinner times.

She wrote: “You welcomed other pups into the home, rallied in your final years, and gave us 14 amazing years of love.

“We’re forever grateful you chose us.”

The Logans live in Buckinghamshire and are now adjusting to a quieter household, with Lois away at university and Reuben playing professional rugby for Sale Sharks in Manchester.

Speaking recently to The Daily Mail, Gabby said: “With Lois gone as well as Reuben, we’re really going to feel it this week. But there’s also a lot of freedom that comes with this time in your life.”

Logan remains one of the BBC’s most recognisable sports faces and now co-hosts Match of the Day alongside Kelly Cates and Mark Chapman, following Gary Lineker’s exit.
