Cops said a liquid was thrown during the bust-up, which was later determined to be acid.

Two boys were rushed to hospital where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Metropolitan police arrested three 17-year-old boys on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

They all remain in custody.

Local MP for Walthamstow, Stella Creasey, called the incident “horrific” and assured locals she is “seeking urgent information” regarding the case.

In a post on Facebook, she said: “Horrific reports being made of an incident tonight in Walthamstow near the top of the market.

“Please be assured I am seeking urgent information as to what happened and for the condition of those involved.

“I want to be clear I recognise the recent spate of incidents worrying and am seeking further details of what actions are being taken to tackle.”

Waltham Forest cabinet member for community safety, Khevyn Limbajee, described the assault as “deeply unsettling”.

He added more local support will be provided over the coming days to offer “reassurance” to the community.

He said: “We share residents’ concerns following this shocking incident.

“Street violence is deeply unsettling for anyone who witnesses it or lives nearby.

“We expect to receive an update on the conditions of the young people who were taken to hospital shortly, and we hope their injuries are not severe.

“We are supporting the police investigation in any way we can. We will also make sure our Safer Routes colleagues and neighbourhood officers are highly visible in the community over coming days, to provide some extra reassurance.”

Two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a Hazardous Area Response Team were also in attendance.

Officers have urged anyone with information to call 101, quoting CAD 5267/01OCT.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 4.40pm yesterday (October 1) to reports of an assault in Stainforth Road, Walthamstow.

“We sent two ambulance crews, an incident response officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene.

“We checked over three patients at the scene and took two of them to hospital.”
