The virtue-signalling Left leaps to defend almost every minority – but demonises Jews

“THOSE people celebrating the death of Jews in your country were also celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk as well,” was what a guest on our show told me as Britain reeled from its latest terror attack.

Yet there was a crashing sense of inevitability to scenes that played out on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur and unfolded across the UK on Thursday night.

Sir Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Mark Carney rewarded the savage tactics of Hamas by recognising a mythical Palestinian state

Like the assassination of Kirk last month, political violence on both sides of the Atlantic has shamefully been met with glee and venom.

What clearly unites the radical Left and the Islamists is a hatred of the West.

Our values. Our way of life. Our norms.

And nothing encapsulates this hate more than the reaction to Jihad al-Shamie’s attack on a Manchester synagogue and the subsequent shower of hate that exploded on to Britain’s streets this week.

It was yet another attack on the UK by a foreign-born or second-generation immigrant — and the second time England’s second city has been scarred by Islamist terror within a decade.

But while a community mourned, thousands ignored their plight for a bigger cause: Attacking Israel and anyone who supports the Middle East’s only functioning democracy.

British Jews had dreaded this day, after two years of derision and ostracisation since the October 7 attack on Israel.

Meanwhile, the evil that lurks in some Islamic communities is allowed to fester under the guise of political correctness and inclusivity.

It wasn’t British Jews who blew up the London Underground and kids at an Ariana Grande concert.

Nor did they slaughter innocent punters in Borough Market, or drive and slash their way across Westminster Bridge and into Parliament.

Nor are they responsible for Israel’s continued mission to rid Gaza of Hamas, who, it should be pointed out, are the only side so far not to accept the globally backed ceasefire terms in the region.

Yet Jews have been demonised by politicians and protesters alike with the oldest libels on the planet that everything is their fault.

A climate of blame and guilt by association has only been made worse by G7 leaders, including Sir Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Mark Carney, rewarding the savage tactics of Hamas by recognising a mythical Palestinian state that can’t even define its population, leadership or borders before the terror group had set free the remaining hostages or even put down their AK-47s.

While protesters scream they want to wipe Israel off the map, politicians pander to the calls to redraw borders.

We saw just how angry the Jewish community is with the British government, as anger exploded at yesterday’s vigil — where boorish Deputy PM David Lammy preached the same old platitudes about not letting evil divide us.

But governments across the West are doing just that.

Since Hamas massacred 1,200 Jews in 2023, antisemitism across Europe has exploded — with four incidents a day reported in the UK alone, and countless others ignored.

Synagogues are like fortresses, kids bullied at school, patients refused treatment, campuses no-go zones.

And it’s not just in Europe.

Here in Washington, mobs chant “Globalise the intifada”, a war cry, regardless of any spin.

In May that globalisation occurred when two Israeli embassy staff were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum in DC, in what the FBI declared an act of terror.

And all the while hatred has been allowed to fester week in week out on the streets of Western capitals with loathing toward Jews barely contained by so-called peace protesters.

They claim the last slew of hate marches are in defence of former child climate extremist Greta Thunberg, who Israel has politely asked not to sail into a war zone with her flotilla of fellow attention seekers.

But we all know what this is really about.

There is a ceasefire on the table that would free Palestinians from Hamas, but their moronic Western supporters don’t want it due to their deranged hatred of Donald Trump.

They wilfully ignore the fact that if Israel lays down its arms and surrenders, it gets wiped off the map by a blood-thirsty organisation founded with the stated aim of destroying the Jewish state.

If Hamas surrender, the terms of peace mean they can waltz off into the sunset in a neighbouring Muslim country free from prosecution for their heinous crimes.

But what do we get instead? Chants of “death, death, death to the IDF”.

Stop the bile

The virtue-signalling Left leaps to defend almost every minority, yet just hours after the Manchester attack they were on the streets calling for the death of more Jews and the eradication of Israel.

If you ever doubt “Jews don’t count” has become reality then look at the scenes of spit-flecked Hamas sympathisers in their cosplay keffiyeh scarves, raging across London, Manchester, Edinburgh and Birmingham the other night.

A near riot outside Downing Street, 40 arrests and even bigger marches planned for today.

And the British Government just throws up its hands and insists it is powerless to stop the bile.

While Donald Trump warned last night, “Hell, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against” Hamas if they do not surrender by Sunday, in the UK ministers simp on the airwaves that there is nothing they can do.

Meanwhile, British police have taken to begging protesters to stay at home today because their resources are already over-stretched.

If that’s truly the case then the Army should be drafted in to keep the peace.

Every time this happens we get the same words: “never again” or “enough is enough”.

But without a reality check and a proper response to the hatred that has allowed to poison the veins of our societies, I fear there are going to be a lot more vigils and funerals.

TWO new giant flagpoles, a patioed dining club in the White House Rose Garden and even the construction of a brand new ballroom.

Yep, Donald Trump is certainly enjoying leaving his mark, not just in America but on its most famous building – with a decorating spree.

He seems particularly pleased with the souped-up Oval Office that is now overwhelmingly covered in gold leaf.

He’s so keen to show guests his renovations, one recent visitor reports the President has taken to pointing at his favourite golden decoration on the ceiling with a laser pen.
