SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY’S match against Coventry City came to an abrupt halt after home fans stormed the pitch at Hillsborough.

The Championship match was paused after just 10 minutes when the first fans invaded the pitch.
The referee stopped the game for about five minutes as about 40 or 50 fans stepped on to the grass.
Security quickly interjected and removed the pitch invaders so the fixture could restart.
The game was back underway soon after the incident.
Sheffield Wednesday have found themselves in a difficult situation under Chansiri.
And fans warned they would stage another protest before the meeting with Coventry.
Wednesday’s players have not been paid for five of the last seven months.
Ongoing financial problems led to September’s pay day being missed.

That will result in further sanctions from the EFL after a series of embargoes the last seven months.
In fact, Sheffield Wednesday could be whacked with a 15-point deduction.
It is too early to know for certain the kind of sanction Wednesday could be hit with — but SunSport understands it is likely to land somewhere in between.
Wednesday already have FIVE transfer embargoes placed on the club.
In layman’s terms, Wednesday are unable to register any new players until all their outstanding payments are resolved.
But, on top of that, they can no longer bring in any free agents unless they have fewer than 16 permitted players.
These are players who have made three or more league starts at their current level over the course of their career.
