A TEENAGE girl was sexually assaulted in an alleyway after being led away from a tram stop.
Police have now released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to in connection with the shocking attack.
The teenage girl reported being sexually assaulted in New Basford, Nottingham around 8pm on September 17.
She had approached a group of people at a tram stop in Shipstone Street before one of them led her away.
The girl was led to a nearby alleyway by an unknown male who then sexually assaulted her.
It was reported to Nottinghamshire Police soon after and specially trained officers have been supporting the victim since.
The force has now launched an urgent investigation with extensive enquiries and daily patrols around where the incident took place.
They have also released images of two “persons of interest” they think could have information that could assist them in their investigation.
Anyone who recognises them is urged to “contact the police immediately”.
Detective Inspector Hannah Frame, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Specially trained officers have continued to support the victim since she suffered this ordeal.
“As with all incidents of this nature, our priority has been and will continue to be the welfare of the people impacted.
“We’re determined to identify the person responsible for this assault, so have been conducting extensive inquiries since it happened.
“On that note, we can now release images of two persons of interest, who we believe could have information that could assist our investigation.
“We’d strongly advise them to make themselves known to us, so that we can ask them a few questions.
“Likewise, we’d ask anyone who recognises either of them to contact the police immediately.”
