GAMEWEEK 7 was short yet sweet.

Popular midfielder Antoine Semenyo (£4.9m) earned the most points of the round but now it’s time to dig deeper into the stats, facts and trends that may have escaped your attention during an action-packed weekend.

Keep it Clean

Newcastle beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 on Sunday to make it four clean sheets in their last five league games.

The Magpies have repelled their opponents six times in all competitions and Dan Burn (£4.3m) is the only defender who has contributed to all of them.

The tall left-back is one of just two players in his position to have registered six clean sheets at this stage, with Gabriel (£5.1m) being the other.

Similarly, Nick Pope (£4.3m) and David Raya (£4.8m) are the only goalkeepers with half a dozen clean sheets to their names.

It was Burn who assisted Bruno Guimaraes’s (£5.1m) opening goal against Forest, which helped him record his first double-digit haul of the season.

Brace Face

Might Donyell Malen (£2.3m) be the man to propel Aston Villa up the league table?

The 26 year-old Dutchman started up top alongside Ollie Watkins (£4.7m) against Burnley and capitalised on the opportunity with a game-winning brace.

He was comfortably the top-performing forward of Gameweek 7 and might be a differential option (0.6% ownership) for Gameweek 8 when the Villains will face Tottenham and Go Ahead Eagles.

In terms of notable stats from this fixture, Lucas Digne (£3.8m) provided seven accurate crosses on his way to three bonus points.

That’s a lot of accurate crosses for a defender; only four players in the position have reached double figures for the season.

Shiver Me Timber!

Erling Haaland (£7.9m) is clearly the central protagonist of this season so far but who would have predicted that Jurrien Timber (£5m) would be the best of the rest come the October international break?

Arsenal’s No12 has racked up 79 points at an average of 8.8 per game.

We expect a certain volume of clean sheets from the Gunners but Timber has set himself apart with two goals, two assists and 31 tackles — only one player has made more tackles (more on him in a moment).

The Dutchman banked 15 points against West Ham and made the most tackles (six) on either side.

It’s interesting that Riccardo Calafiori (£4.1m) is the most selected Arsenal defender as the Italy international is now 21 points behind Timber.

Perhaps the latter will leapfrog his team-mate before the Gameweek 8 deadline.

Chelsea’s Sniper

What’s got into Moises Caicedo (£4.7m) this season?

The combative midfielder already ticked a lot of boxes but now he’s developed into a serious threat from the edge of the box.

Having never scored more than one league goal in any previous season since his move to England, he’s scored three in his first seven outings this campaign.

Nobody has scored more goals from outside the box in 2025/26.

Whether Caicedo will be able to maintain this new string to his bow remains to be seen but for now it’s boosted his Dream Team viability to the moon.

The Ecuador international leads his peers for tackles and interceptions, he ranks third for bonus points too.

But it’s his new-found goal threat that has catapulted him up to second in the midfield rankings on 69 points!

Normal Service Resumed

Daniel Munoz (£5.6m) allowed other Crystal Palace defenders time in the spotlight throughout August and September but he has reengaged superhuman mode since the calendar flipped over to October.

The Eagles suffered their first defeat in a long while when Jack Grealish (£3.8m) scored in stoppage time on Sunday but the Colombian wing-back’s 10-point return meant he climbed up to second in the defensive rankings.

Munoz ranks first in his position for goals, shots on target and big chances created.

That’s a sentence we wrote over and over again last season and we may have to do the same again in the coming months.

It may be because of his expensive price tag but Munoz’s ownership of 5.8% simply doesn’t align with his pedigree.

Make no mistake, he’s an elite asset.

Pulling No Punches

Despite the fact he wasn’t added to Dream Team until September, Gigi Donnarumma (£3.7m) now ranks joint-first for successful punches.

Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper uses his considerable wingspan to dominate his box and that might help him supplement his returns with bonus points going forward.

Donnarumma has made some big saves since he arrived on these shores but it’s worth noting that he’s averaging just 1.3 saves per fixture.

Even so, his owners will be hopeful of plentiful points after the break when City will fulfil six fixtures in the space of three Gameweeks.
