Man’s body found on popular beach as cops probe ‘unexplained’ death

A MAN’S body has been found dead on a popular UK beach as cops cordon off the area.

Merseyside Police were called to Southport beach, in Liverpool, at around 10.30am today.

Officers discovered the body of a man, and his death is being treated as “unexplained”.

Investigations are ongoing to identify the deceased and inform his next of kin.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Merseyside Police can confirm emergency services were called to report a body was found on Southport beach this morning, Monday 6 October. 

“At around 10.30am we received a report that a man was found deceased and his death is being treated as unexplained.

“Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and notify his next of kin.”
