DARTS star Alan Soutar gave fans a glimpse into his life away from the oche after playing in two exhibition events at the weekend.

Soutar, 47, is ranked 53 in the world, but still holds down a job when he is not travelling for the game.

In his day job he is a firefighter in his hometown of Arbroath, Scotland.

On Sunday he uploaded a snap of him at Arbroath Fire Station to his social media.

He is dressed in uniform in the photo, posing in front of a fire engine.

He captioned the post: “Two fantastic exhibitions over the weekend.

“Both crowds were amazing, thank you for the support!

“What a team I have on my side. Now back to the real job.”

‘Soots’ played in exhibition matches in both Aberdeen and Arbroath over the weekend.

But he is far from a novelty player, having won his first PDC title last year.

He bettered Daryl Gurney 8-7 in the final of the Players Championship 11 in Germany to bag the trophy.

He also made headlines earlier this year when he hit a nine-darter against teenage darts sensation Luke Littler.

The perfect leg saw him take a 5-4 advantage over the 18-year-old at the Players Championship 5 in March.

But the Englishman rallied to defeat the popular thrower with an agonising scoreline of 6-5.
