Lucie, the chief meteorologist for the NBC affiliate WDSU, had attended an event in Gretna, Louisiana – a suburb of New Orleans – with his girlfriend but they left separately, according to police documents seen by NOLA.

She left the festival with her mother, while he left on his own.

Lucie’s partner had to use a tool to get into the home, as reported by the Fox affiliate WJW-TV.

The woman told officers their argument escalated inside the home.

He allegedly attacked her after she went to lie down.

Lucie, of Illinois, punched and wrestled with his partner, according to the police documents.

The woman told officers that she fought back to defend herself.

In his police mugshot, Lucie had two scratches on his face. He was arrested just after 1:20am local time on Sunday.

The woman was allegedly left with welts on her forehead and face.

Cops also noted how she had cuts and scratches on her body.

When Lucie was arrested, he wouldn’t give his name or personal details.

The meteorologist apparently refused to give his date of birth, and wouldn’t put on his clothes or shoes.

Lucie also refused to clean his injuries, according to cops.

He faces charges of domestic abuse child endangerment and resisting by refusing to identify.

The TV weatherman has since been put on leave by WDSU chiefs.

He was named the broadcaster’s chief meteorologist in August of this year.

Lucie succeeded Margaret Orr in the role, who retired in 2024. She had worked at the network for 45 years.

He had worked as a meteorologist at WDSU-TV since October 2021, according to his LinkedIn.

Lucie’s break as a TV meteorologist came in 1997 when he was a forecaster for the Tulsa Fox affiliate KOKI-TV.

He was named chief meteorologist for the channel in December 1999.

Lucie spent just over three years as a weatherman for the ABC affiliate KATV-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He also worked for the networks KVVU-TV and the CBS Kansas City affiliate KCTV.
