JOCKEY Bryony Frost has opened up on her life-changing switch to race in France – and the one person in Britain she ‘really misses’.

Trailblazer Frost has made her brave decision to start afresh across the Channel pay dividends.

Just last month she bagged her biggest victory to date – and a cheque for £46,000 – with a win in the Grade 3 Prix de Chambly at Auteuil.

Under a perfectly-timed ride, she beat boyfriend-of-a-year Baptiste le Clerc to top spot in the hurdle contest.

Frost has used her King George and Ryanair-winning credentials to great effect, riding for big-time owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

But in an interview with The Times, Frost said there are aspects of the life she left behind she still misses.

Frost was at the centre of a bullying row with rival male rider Robbie Dunne, that ultimately led to him receiving a ten-month ban.

A bona fide Grade 1 winner, she found rides and opportunities coming few and far between as the bitter fallout rumbled on.

Frost always had an ally in 14-time champion trainer Paul Nicholls.

But it was another man at his yard who she wishes could still be part of her everyday life.

Clifford Baker has been Nicholls’ right-hand man at Ditcheat for almost 30 years and together the duo have won just about every big race.

Asked about the one name that always pops into her head when thinking about home, Frost said: “Clifford helped me a lot and I really miss him being in my life.”

Nicholls’ head lad, Baker has been called an ‘absolute legend’ by Ditcheat fans.

And, before he set out to train on his own, Nicholls’ former assistant Harry Derham said Baker was ‘without question the most important member of Paul’s team.”

Baker’s words of wisdom no doubt still help Frost.

But just about every other aspect of her life has moved on in France.

And that includes her love life.

Frost, who used to date Willie Mullins’ son Patrick, told The Times she has been with Le Clerc for around 12 months and said, both being jumps jockeys, that they’re a good match.

Fiercely competitive on the track, there is nothing but support off it.

Le Clerc was asked if it was difficult getting turned over on the short-price fav by his girlfriend in that Auteuil race.

But he said simply: “No. I was just so thrilled for her.”
