Whether you’re out and about or tucked up at home, you can guarantee coverage of the countdown will include the mother of all fireworks displays in Central London.
And this year is likely to be no different as details of the London New Year’s Eve fireworks have now been announced, with tickets going on sale very soon.
However, regular attendees were left shocked as the price for the event has been hiked up for the second year in a row.
Prices for tickets depend on which area you stand in, with each area labelled a different colour to determine the categories.
Price hike
And those who live in London are also offered a discount on tickets, with the cheapest tickets priced at £20 for those who live in the city.
This is half the price of the whopping £40 those travelling into the capital to see the fireworks will face.
And for slightly better viewing areas, these attendees will have to fork over £55.
For the 2024 celebrations, non-London residents were charged £35 to £50.
This marks the second year in a row ticket prices for the event have gone up.
Meanwhile, the most a London resident will be charged for the event is £35, the same as last year.
Online backlash
Social media users criticised the repeated price increase, calling the mark up an “utter disgrace”.
“I’ve been going to this regularly for years, both before and after ticketing and I love the whole experience, even the long wait once I’m in my spot. But £55 for 10 minutes of fireworks?! No chance,” wrote one person.
“Same ole rip off shit from the Mayor of London, prices gone up for London firework display,” said another X user.
“How about handing out a load of free tickets or subsidised for hard up Londoners, OAPs, and low earners instead of out pricing them?”
The poster went on to say that the city’s motivation is “always about greed and money”.
When do tickets go on sale?
The first bactch of tickets will be available from Ticketmaster on Friday, October 17 at midday (UK time).
There will be another set on sale later in the year, though this will be a lot smaller.
Ticketed spots for the London New Year’s Eve fireworks are valid from 8pm on December 31, 2025 to 12:30am on January 1, 2026.

Speaking on the fireworks, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan said: “There is no better way to welcome in the new year than by uniting with Londoners and visitors on the banks of the River Thames for our spectacular celebrations.
“Every year the eyes of the world watch as our capital’s unique fireworks, lighting, and music display shows off the very best of London.”
He described the occasion as “a fantastic advert for our city and a huge boost for our hospitality and tourism industries”.
