Mosquera was born in Alicante, Spain, to Colombian parents.
He holds dual citizenship for both countries and joined Arsenal for a sum of £13m in July of this year.
Since then, he has made four starts for the Premier League side in all competitions this season, keeping three clean sheets.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said he is “hugely impressed” with him, alongside Gunners fans and pundits.
He was seen training with Spain in September but has yet to make a senior appearance.
Fans believed his debut was coming after Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen was forced to withdraw from the team during World Cup qualifiers due to a muscle injury.
But Athletic Bilbao centre-back Aymeric Laporte was summoned as a replacement instead.
Now, Colombia are offering him a route straight into the senior team, after failing to bring him on board back in 2023.

There are several centre-backs ahead of Mosquera in Spain’s pecking order including Huijsen, Pau Cubarsi, Dani Vivian, Robin Le Normand and Laporte.
When asked about the idea of switching his allegiance to Colombia he said: “What depends on me is working day by day and the doors will open.”
The Royal Spanish Football Federation are reportedly “optimistic” Mosquera will continue to represent Spain and feel “he has a big future with La Roja.”
