A FEMALE prison nurse working in one of England’s highest security prisons is being investigated amid claims that she had a ”fling” with an inmate.
Alexandra Powell, 31, is accused of starting a relationship with then-prisoner Jay Bell – but who is he and what is alleged to have happened between the pair? Here’s everything you need to know.

Who is Jay Bell?
Jay Bell is a former prisoner who was previously serving time behind bars after being sentenced to ten-months for committing a road rage offence.
Bell is understood to have had a long-term partner and is also a dad-of-two.
The former inmate has been in and out of prison and was last jailed in December 2022, following a violent road rage incident involving two motorcyclists in London.
Two years ago, Bell was one of three prisoners who had sexual communications with a prison officer at The Mount Jail in Hemel Hempstead.
In 2021, Sarah Milburn was put behind bars for 16 months after pleading guilty to three charges of misconduct in a public office.
Prosecutor James Keeley said that Milburn was temporarily serving as an officer at the prison from July 23, 2017.
Bell was released from the category C prison HMP Aylesbury in September – and it was there he met prison nurse Alexandra Powell.
What happened between Jay Bell and Alexandra Power?
Prison nurse Alexandra Power is accused of starting a relationship with Bell at the top security jail.
Bell is said to have bagged a job while behind bars in a prison reception – which was reportedly near to where Power was working at the time as a temporary nurse.
Power, who was already in a relationship and is a mother-of-two, described the fling as a ”false allegation” when approached at her home.
She declined to comment further on the claims.
Prior to her prison role, Power is believed to have previously trained as a beauty technician, as well as running her own cosmetics company.
Following the claims made, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust have now launched an internal investigation.
A statement from a Trust spokesperson read: ”We have been made aware of an allegation involving a temporary worker which we are investigating.
”While this investigation is ongoing, the staff member has been asked not to attend the service location they usually work in.
”We should stress that this is a neutral action to allow a full investigation to take place. We are not able to comment further on such matters while they are taking place.”
As confirmed in the above statement, Power has since been moved from working at HMP Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire while the internal investigation is ongoing.
Following Bell’s release, the pair are reportedly living together in Milton Keynes, MailOnline reports.
